Epcke Family

Henry Epcke was an early settler in the Proviso Township and his decendents have resided in the Hillside area ever since.

In 1871 they became the proud parents of Sophia Epcke.  Henry and Dorothea Epcke purchased 40 acres on the west side of Wolf Road and built a new home in 1876.  

Sophia Epcke married Louis Glos in 1890.  His father, John Glos, came from Frankfort, Germany in 1832 and settled in St. Charles. There were seven children, among them Louis, Amelia and Dorothy. 

Dorothy (Glos) Schierhorn had son, George Schierhorn.
