Torode's Woods

Substantial evidence leads us to believe Franzosenbusch was named after the Frenchman, Nicholas Torode, and the woods on his land.  We believe York Woods (southwest of Roosevelt and York Roads in DuPage County) was part of his land.  The DuPage Forest Preserve District is making a substantial ongoing effort to restore the area to its native state.
