June 29, 1937

Granted permission to Westchester's Women's Club to use the Britten School on the first and third Tuesday evenings each month -- no mention of fee.

Feb 23, 1938

Granted permission to Miss Muriel Augustine to use a classroom after school to teach Dramatic Art -- no mention of fee.

March 30, 1938

Granted PTA use of school bus for maximum of one trip per week to take children to Field museum, Aquarium, etc.

October 8, 1941

Approved motion that in the future the school bus was to be confined to school activities and not made available to village organizations.

May 18, 1946

Village recreation Committee requested use of the bus, playgrounds at both schools and access to toilets for summer program. Board refused bus because the driver was not available and insurance would not cover. Also refused Nixon School site because of construction work to be started soon.

September 11, 1946

Passed a motion to discontinue furnishing school keys to village organizations and requiring that a custodian be on the premises and a reasonable fee be paid.

October 11, 1946

Agreed to permit Scout organizations use of premises until January1, 1947, without rental fee.

July 17, 1947

Tentative arrangements made with new Catholic Church (Divine Infant) parish for Sunday services at Nixon School when basement of new addition is completed.

August 12, 1947

Approved agreement for use of East basement room of Nixon School for Sunday services of Divine Infant Jesus Parish at $5 rental fee plus custodian charge, church to pay direct to custodian.

September 10, 1947

Approved agreement for use of a room at Britten School by the Orthodox Presbyterian Chapel at $5 rental per Sunday plus custodian charge to be paid by church direct to the custodian.

September 29, 1947

Permitted four Girl Scout troops to use Nixon, Romilly and Britten Schools without fee.

November 20, 1947

Approved Home Owners request to use lower East room of Nixon addition for monthly meetings at $5 per meeting plus charge to be aid direct to custodian. Approved Hoe Owners request for entire lower floor of Nixon for the Children's Christmas Party on Sunday afternoon, December 21, 1947. Fee paid to custodian.

January 16, 1948

Agreement with Home Owners changed to a flat fee of $10 per meeting with the school paying the custodian.

September 8, 1948

Authorized the PTA to hold movie programs in he lower two rooms of the Nixon addition in order to raise funds, on request of Warren Coan, Chairman of the PTA Budget Committee. Proposal was for a children’s program on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and adult programs the same evenings of one weekend per month. Facilities made available without any building or custodian charge.

November 18, 1948

Approved (Divine Infant) Catholic Church request for us of entire two basement classrooms for church services as attendance at four masses overcrowds East basement room at two of the masses. No increase in fee made.

November 29, 1948

Granted request of Home Owners and Divine Infant Parish to hold children's Christmas party in entire basement on December 18 and19 without rental, but they are to pay custodian fee.

February 17, 1949

PTA representatives brought up a request for the school bus to be used to transport teams and rooters to and from athletic activities. The Board advised that this was impossible as the bus would be taking pupils home, and after the bus run the driver had janitorial duties to perform.

Request received from the Westchester Women's Club to rent the Nixon Auditorium during school year 1949-1950 for monthly meetings, as they wanted to expand their membership. Discussion followed regarding conditions, fees, etc. and the problem was assigned to the Education and Administration Committee for recommendation.

March 22, 1949

A committee from Divine Infant Jesus Parish asked the board to pick up their parochial school children next fall with the school bus. This request was assigned to the Education and Administration Committee for their recommendation after the PTA summer round-up figures were available.

Adopted recommendation of Education and Administration Committee relative to regulations and conditions for use of school facilities. The matter of charges for use of facilities was referred back to the committee for further study.

Board granted Broadview Academy use of one side of garage for 1949-1950 without rent in exchange for Broadview Academy having granted the use of their gymnasium for basketball practice during the last few years, without charge.

April 11, 1949

Approved revised recommendation of Education and Administration Committee for building charge for use of premises.
