August 15, 1937

Purchased for $590 from Talens School Products Company, Inc. of Terre Haute, Indiana body for first school bus.

August 19, 1937

Purchased for $580.24 Ford Chassis from Maywood Motor.

March 16, 1938

Authorized installation of key electric light switches save electricity due to outside organizations using schools turning no all the lights.

May 12, 1944

PTA Committee offered to raise funds toward purchase of a new bus, estimated to cost $3000.

August 9, 1944

Bus Committee raised $1582.27. Contract signed with Carlson Loufit, Inc. for 40-passenger Ford bus for $3182.40.

December 13, 1944

Old bus sold for $550. Total received from Bus Committee $1750.83, leaving $881.57 to be paid by School District.

January 10, 1045

Authorized installation of telephone at Britten School.

September 11, 1945

Superintendent Beamish recommended the purchase of a 58-passenger bus to replace the 40-passenger bus that is giving trouble and because he enrollment of 268 pupils, and the number to be transported overcrowds present bus.

December 1, 1946

Accepted bid of Davidson Motor Sales of Elgin, Illinois for a 58-passenger Dodge bus at $6427.97 without trade-in.

January 8, 1947

C. N. Field announced the Westchester Home Owners Association would hold a benefit dance to help defray the cost of the new school bus.

February 12, 1947

Net proceeds of the School Bus Benefit Dance was $2823.70 and it turned over to the School Board by Chairman Harold Reilly.

April 9, 1947

Decided to move juvenile playground equipment at Nixon School to Britten and locate it near present equipment.

June 11, 1947

Awarded contract to H. B. nelson for $1064.00 to install sump pump and drainage in original basement of Nixon School.

Awarded contract to the Seneca Petroleum Company for $1600 to install asphaltum playing areas at Nixon, Britten and Romilly Hall.

June 28, 1947

Awarded contract to Power Construction Company for $2027 to partition office and install moveable partition in basement of first addition to Nixon School.

Awarded contract to Kjellberg Plastering Company for $690 to remove ceilings in original two rooms at Nixon, re-lath and re-plaster.

September 10, 1947

Forty-passenger school (Ford) sold for $1975.00.

September 16, 1947

Approved bill from Clarence Nieman for $130 to install sump pump previously purchased for Britten School, also covered repairs of cracks in steps.

Bicycle racks installed at Nixon School.

October 21, 1948

Accepted bid from Skelgas to install 1000-gallon tank at Romilly with trade-in of present 500-gallon tank, net $185.00.

November 18, 1948

Approved purchase of 300 folding chairs from Clarin Manufacturing Company to provide a total of about 450 chairs. Authorized purchase of four classroom requirements in pupils desks from Chicago Seating Company. Also six primary tables with chairs and four teacher desks.

December 16, 1948

Board approved the installation of a telephone at Romilly Hall as soon as it would be possible for the telephone company to install it.

January 20, 1949

Arrangements made to install inventory tags on all school property.
