In 1947 Father Langan was assigned to survey Westchester for the establishment of a Catholic church which became Divine Infant Parish.  This act was just the start of his involvement in our area.  He said the first Mass on Sunday, August 24, 1947 in the Nixon School.  He lead the parish through contributing in many ways.  He was a advocate and supporter for the creation of both Saint Joseph's and Immaculate Heart of Mary school.  His involvement in the parish continued until he passed away in August of 1991.
