DEATH TRAP IN PRESERVES IS USED DAILY BY BATHERS

The dangerous quarry pool at Salt creek and Thirty-first street is still being used daily by swimmers, as the camera view shows, despite its record of one or more drownings each season.  Automobiles drive north from Brainard avenue through the forest preserves to the pool.  Bathers don their suits in the cars and then plunge into the cold spring fed waters.  The pool is very deep.  Last year two boys were drowning victims.  The death trap is on property of the forest preserve district.
