ANOTHER NEW SUBDIVISION

Old Mandel Farm at Fifth and Thirty-first Will Seek Annexation to LaGrange Park

The old Mandel farm east of Fifth avenue and north of Thirty-first street has been sold to a firm of subdividers, Messrs Mares and White, and it will be placed on the market just as soon as it can be surveyed and the plat approved by the village of LaGrange Park.  As soon as this plat is approved, the subdividers will seek to have the thirty-acre tract annexed to the Park by special election.

Mares & White own the property further east that was taken into the Park at the April election and are enthusiastic over this location.  They are now putting in cement walks in the tract recently taken into LaGrange Park and while no special effort has been made to sell the lots until the improvements are further along, they have sold twenty-one lots, including the corner of Thirty-first street and Seventeenth avenue which brought $8,000.

It was reported to the LaGrange Park village board at their regular meeting Monday night that the sidewalks would soon be put in the Northwoods subdivision and that sewer and water will both be put in the Meyers' subdivision just as soon as possible so this section can be place on the market during the summer.

(Note: Fifth Avenue is now LaGrange Road/Mannheim Road.
