Mathews, L. G.
Mathews was the Village of La Grange Police Chief in 1925. In December was discharged in a dispute with the Board of Trustees over questions of financial irregularities and frequent absences. In support of their chief the entire police force resigned. Members of the American Legion Post 41 served as temporary patrol men with the Legion post's commander, Colonel Walter Curtis, as the temporary police chief until he was relieved by Colonel William Peterson.
