LOUIS SEEGERS

 Louis Seegers Dies, Well Known Here Formerly Owned Farm on 17th Avenue Near Salt Creek;

Leaves Many Relatives

Just seven years to the day after the burial of his son, Walter, Louis Seegers of River Forest, formerly of Seventh avenue, near Salt creek, was buried.  Mr. Seegers died last Thursday, July 17, 1930 at the West Suburban hospital, and funeral services were conducted this Monday.

Mr. Seegers was one of the best-known members of the old colony of settlers of German extraction, and was hale and hearty almost to the time of his death.  He leaves many relatives and friends in this vicinity.  His interest in public affairs never lagged, and he was an interesting speaker on almost any subject.

The Rev. Mr. Wagner, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, of Forest Park, conducted services both at the Seegers home, at 320 Ashland avenue, River Forest, and later at the church.  Both services were attended by a number of friends from here.

The Seegers family is well-known, particularly so in south Broadview and Hillside.  Louis Seegers formerly owned the farm on the east side of Seventeenth avenue, at Salt Creek, which he sold a few years ago to the forest preserve.  It was at that time that he moved to River Forest.

Surviving Mr. Seegers are his widow and six sons and two daughters.  One of the latter is Mrs. Ernest Heidorn of Hillside.  The other is Miss Lillian Seegers.  The sons are G. Henry, William, Arthur, Edward, Norbert and Theodore.
