  Mrs. Emma Wesemann Died Sunday Morning After Long Illness

Mrs. Emma Wesemann, widow of the late William F. Wesemann, died Sunday morning, August 4, 1940, after a long illness.  She had been in poor health for several months and critically ill for the past three months.

Emma Rathe was born at Addison, Illinois, February 5, 1856, her parents later moving to Proviso township where she was married in 1874 to Mr. Wesemann.  They continued to live in Proviso just north of where the Brookfield zoo is now located until 1899 when they moved to 445 North Ashland avenue which has been since, the family home.  Mr. Wesemann died in 1914.  He was active in helping to incorporate the village of LaGange Park and served as trustee several terms.

Deceased is survived by two sons, William L. Wesemann, 316 North LaGrange road, and Adolph H. Wesemann, 16 Woodlawn avenue.  A brother, Herman Rathe, who lived in LaGrange many years, died in 1937.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Immanuel Lutheran church at Proviso, Rev. Otto Heerwagen officiating.  Interment was at the Immanuel cemetery.
