A Degener Photo Album

The boyhood home of Heinrich and Frederick Degener, two of the founding fathers of Immanuel Lutheran School still exists.  It is located in Rodewald, Hannover, Germany.  it is still standing and occupied.

The name reads Johann Christian Degener on these barn rafters

Although someone has labeled this the Heinrich (Henry) Degener, it has been identified as the August Degener home built around 1860.

A picture of Edward Karl Degener in his teens on a Sulky Cart with his horse "Dobbin".  This house was built by his father (Heinrich Diedrich August Degener) along with his sons.  The building behind the horse is the family barn.  The house was torn down, and the land is now a park.  The property was at 505 North La Grange Road, in La Grange.
