Through the years the Village boundaries have change.  Below is a map showing the original boundaries.

Broadview Municipal Boundaries, December 16, 1914

(Best viewed at 800 x 600 resolution or higher)

The 1914 boundaries have been drawn on a more modern map.  Harrison Street and parts of other streets were obliterated years later by the Eisenhower Expressway.

Also available is the Broadview Zoning Map 2000.

In April of 1930, an ordinance was passed to "disconnect" a portion of Broadview to the Forest Preserve.  The text near the top of the document is:

"Being ll of the W 1/2 of Section 23 and also all of the W 1/2 of the E 1/2 of said Section 23 (excepting the South 8 blocks thereof) all of 23N-R12E of the 3rd PM"

Translating this legalese...the RED area of the above map to the east of First Avenue (labeled as "Forest Preserve") was the area removed from Broadview.

The BLUE area of the Hines/Vaugh Hospital complex was also "disconnected" from Broadview, leaving Broadview's eastern boundary as Ninth Avenue.
