The
Dieckhoff's purchased several lots of land from the Heinrich (Henry) Degener
family after Henry's death.
One section of land -- over 240 acres in Section 19 -- was to the north of Cermak Road west of Wolf.
Another section of over 70 acres was in the northeast corner of Proviso Township, Section 30. This is the land to the south and west of the intersection of Wolf and Cermak Roads -- the location of the five corporate towers. This was on this land on which the Franzosenbusch Prairie House existed for many years before it was moved in 1985 to its current location.
