home of Grandma Spriggs on May 3, 1887. Three years later in April of 1890, with
91 members the Messiah Baptist Church of Chicago was born.
The Church moved to Broadview, Illinois in November of 1959 with approximately 325 members.
As of 1964 the church had 675 members with Reverend Lon G. Stewart as the pastor and John L. Moore as the associate pastor.
